2PM & Big Bang win awards at 'MTV VMAJ 2013'

The 'MTV VMAJ 2013' (Video Music Awards Japan) were held on June 22 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

K-pop's hottest idol groups TVXQ, Big Bang, and 2PM were nominated in 3 different categories and both Big Bang and 2PM each won an award.

2PM's 'LEGEND OF 2PM' took home the award in the category, 'Best Album of the Year'. They were able to beat out One Direction's 'Take Me Home', Linkin Park's 'Living Things', Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Kiss', and Kana Nishino's 'Living Things'.

Big Bang's music video for "Fantastic Baby" which was directed by Hyun Seung Seo won the category of 'Best Dance Video'. They were able to beat out the music videos of SKRILLEX's "Bangarang", ZEDD's "Spectrum", livetune's "Transfer", and group_inou's "9".

TVXQ's "Catch Me - If you wanna-" was nominated in the 'Best Group Video' category but unfortunately J Soul Brothers' "Hanabi" took the award in this category.

At the event, KARA's Nicole also performed her solo Japanese track, "LOST", from her group's special album 'KARA Solo Collection'.

2PM take over Japan's HMV, Tower Records, and Oricon charts with 'Grown'

2PM has completely taken over Japan! 

The boys took over the charts of Oricon, Tower Records, and HMV. Most people would think that they would do so with their Japanese versions but they actually took over the chart with their Korean versions! Version A of 'Grown' ranked at #2 on HMV's Weekly Charts, and Version B is currently #1 in the pre-order category. At Tower Records, it's ranked at #1 on the Daily Charts, and #2 on the Weekly Charts. It also managed to snag #10 on the Oricon Weekly Charts as well.

But is that all? Of course not! Their Japanese single "Give Me Love" is going to be released on May 29, and it's currently #1 on Tower Records' Daily pre-order charts.

2PM’s ‘GROWN’ rises to #1 on Hanteo and Tower Records Daily Charts

Fans have all ‘come back’ after hearing the songs from 2PM‘s new album ‘GROWN‘ and the ‘beastly idols’ grabbed the #1 spot on Korea’s Hanteo charts and Japan’s Tower Records charts at the same time!
After replacing themselves as #1 on Japan’s Tower records’ pre-order chart, 2PM topped Tower Records’ daily chart on the 17th. Their success didn’t stop there as the group also made sure to bring it in Korea as they rose to #1 on Hanteo’s real-time chart on the 18th and Hanteo’s daily chart on the 19th. According to JYP Entertainment, 2PM also topped the iTunes‘ real-time album charts in six countries upon release.
2PM shared, “In the middle of their comeback in Korea, we are happy and thankful to hear such good news. We give our message of thanks to the fans who always show their love and support for us. We will return your love with awesome stages and more promotional activities. Thank you.”

HOTTESTs in China have responded to 2PM‘s call, helping the group’s new double title tracks top China’s most popular music video site!

With the group serenading fans with songs titled “Come Back When You Hear This Song” and “All Day I Think About You“, it’s no wonder fans flocked to watch the music videos, which ended up grabbing the #1 and #2 spots on ‘Yin Yue Tai‘s real-time ‘V-Chart‘ on the 13th and 14th!

2PM’s “Give Me Love” sweeps Japanese music charts before release

2PM surprised HOTTESTs by performing their upcoming Japanese single, ”Give Me Love“, at their Tokyo Dome concert, but fans weren’t surprised that the single swept Japanese music charts before its release.

“Give Me Love” topped Tower Records‘ pre-order chart, ranking #1, 2, and 3, as well as the ringtone charts ‘Recochoku‘ and ‘Chaku-Uta‘. The Japanese TBS drama ‘Take Five‘, which has been receiving attention for featuring “Give Me Love” as its theme song, also started off on a high note with #1 in viewer ratings in its time slot for its premiere on the 19th.

2PM shared, “We are still touched by the Tokyo Dome concert, and we’re even more joyful and happy after hearing such good news. We thank our HOTTESTs who have shown us so much love. We will become a more hardworking 2PM.”

2PM‘s Taecyeon recently surprised HOTTESTs with the release of his self-composed song “I Love U, U Love Me” on the 15th, and it’s topped charts immediately after its release!

“I Love U, U Love Me” grabbed the #1 spot on Recochoku‘s ringtone chart in Japan. Taecyeon, who is making a name for himself as a singer-songwriter, composed and wrote the Japanese lyrics for “I Love U, U Love Me”, which he will perform for the first time during his solo stage at 2PM’s upcoming Tokyo Dome concert.

Taecyeon shared, “The Tokyo Dome concert, which 2PM has been dreaming about ever since our Japanese debut, is finally approaching. I created ‘I Love U, U Love Me’ with an expectant heart for the 110,000 fans who will be joining us for this moment to have fun and create precious memories.
